Step 1: Gather Tools & Supplies
Prepare everything before starting:
New engine oil (correct type for your car)
New oil filter
Oil filter wrench
Socket wrench
Oil drain pan
Funnel
Gloves and clean cloth
Step 2: Lift the Car Safely
Park the car on a flat surface
Turn off the engine and let it cool
Use a car jack or ramps to lift the front of the car safely
Step 3: Drain the Old Engine Oil
Place the drain pan under the oil drain plug
Use a wrench to loosen the drain plug
Let the old oil drain completely into the pan
Step 4: Remove the Old Oil Filter
Use an oil filter wrench to remove the old filter
Some oil may spill, so keep the drain pan underneath
Step 5: Install the New Oil Filter
pply a little new oil on the rubber seal of the new filter
Screw the filter in place by hand until tight
Step 6: Reinstall the Drain Plug
Put the drain plug back into the oil pan
Tighten it securely with a wrench
Step 7: Add New Engine Oil
Open the oil filler cap on top of the engine
Use a funnel to pour the new engine oil slowly
Step 8: Check Oil Level
Insert the dipstick and check the oil level
Add more oil if needed until it reaches the correct mark
Step 9: Start the Engine & Check for Leaks
Start the engine and let it run for 1–2 minutes
Check under the car for any oil leaks
✅ Done! Your engine oil is now changed.
💡 Tip: Always dispose of used oil properly at a recycling or auto service center.
